Reed diffusers work best in a ventilated area, they need circulating air to best carry the scent around your home.
The diffuser bottle is sealed with a secure plastic stopper which you can remove by unscrewing the gold rim and pulling out the stopper. Gently ease it out to avoid spilling any of the oil. Dip one end of the reeds into the oil and after a few minutes flip them over.
